Man City Nigerian Midfielder: We Will Stop Chelsea From Winning The Tournament
Published: January 19, 2017
Nigerian whizkid Tom Dele-Bashiru believes Manchester City can win the FA Youth Cup after they saw off Liverpool at the Academy Stadium on Wednesday night.
The attacking midfielder, who opened scoring in the 30th minute in the 3-1 win over the Reds, is confident that City will stop Chelsea from winning the Cup for the fourth year in a row.
“It would mean everything to win this competition, ” Dele-Bashiru told mancity.com.
“We’ve got to the final in the last two years and we think it’s about time we stopped Chelsea winning the tournament. We’ll have to stay focused.
“Scoring my goal got us started well and helped to build confidence to go on and win the match.”
Manchester City’s reward for beating Liverpool is a fifth round tie against Southampton.
