Exclusive: Talented 15-Year-old Nigerian, Dubbed The New Ozil, Training With Ajax Amsterdam
Published: January 22, 2017Dutch powerhouse Ajax Amsterdam are hoping to snap up the talented Nigerian teenager Aliyu Mahmoud when he attains the age of majority, according to Mutunchi Football Academy boss Auwal Mutunchi.
The attacking midfielder, who has been likened to Germany and Arsenal star Mesut özil by his minders, is presently in the Netherlands training with the Eredivisie club.
“Aliyu is fifteen years old going to sixteen, he is training with Ajax Amsterdam and we are praying he signs a four-year deal when he turns 18. That is the same arrangement we had with Spurs regarding Musa Yahaya, ” Mutunchi told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“He plays for the junior team of my academy. He is an attacking midfielder, can play from the flanks. He plays like Ozil.”
Former Nigeria internationals Nwankwo Kanu, Finidi George, Pius Ikedia and Tijani Babangida have played for Ajax in the past.
