Official : Algeria Coach Throws In The Towel Ahead Of WCQ Against Nigeria
Published: January 24, 2017Belgian tactician George Leekens has resigned his appointment as coach of the national team of Algeria, writes the official website of the Algerian Football Federation.
The Desert Foxes crashed out of the ongoing African Cup of Nations on Monday after failing to win any of their Group B fixtures.
“For the good of all I decided to quit even though I do it with heartache,” Leekens told the FAF website.
“I wish all the success in the world to the national side. ”
The 67-year-old Leekens was appointed coach of Algeria in October 2016 following the resignation of Milovan Rajevac.
