Leicester City Striker : Algeria Will Do Everything To Qualify Ahead Of Nigeria
Published: January 25, 2017
Leicester City striker Islam Slimani was disappointed after the exit of Algeria from the 2017 African Cup of Nations, and has shifted his focus to qualifying for next year’s World Cup in Russia.
Algeria need to win their next two fixtures in World Cup qualifying against Zambia to get their campaign back on track following their loss to Nigeria last November and a drawn game against Cameroon.
“Sure, we are competitors, we will do everything to qualify, we will not give up until our chances remain intact, ” Slimani told Le Buteur.
Slimani started every single game played by the Desert Foxes in Gabon, and scored twice when they wrapped up group play against Senegal on Monday.
He led the Desert Foxes frontline in their 3-1 loss to the Super Eagles in Uyo.
