Blackburn Sweat on Fitness Of Hope Akpan After Poor Challenge
Published: February 01, 2017Hope Akpan is an injury worry ahead of Blackburn Rovers’ Championship clash with Leeds United at Ewood Park on Wednesday night.
The Nigeria international had to be substituted during the second half of the victory over Blackpool last weekend after picking up an injury, following a bad tackle by an opponent.
“Hope Akpan is struggling if truth be told, he is a big doubt,” manager Owen Coyle told Rovers PlayerHD.
“You saw my reaction to the challenge on Saturday, I thought it was a poor challenge, I thought it was uncalled for.
“It has left Hope with an injury, so he’s touch and go for the Leeds United game.”
It would be Akpan’s 17th game in the English second-tier this season if he recovers to face Leeds United.
