Coventry City Boss Concerned About Yakubu Inactivity For Ten Months
Former Everton and Middlesbrough star Yakubu Aiyegbeni has been invited to train with EFL League One club Coventry City with a view to a transfer.

Yakubu has been in search of a new team after he parted ways with Kayserispor at the end of the 2015-2016 season.

“He’s in, he has had his first training day with us this morning. As you know, he’s played in the UK and his scoring records are very good, ” manager Russell Slade told the Coventry Observer.

“He is 34 now, his last club was in Turkey. He hasn’t played for a while which is the only concern, but great pedigree. Goals wise, it is one in two.”

Apart from the aforementioned teams, Yakubu numbers Portsmouth, Leicester City, Blackburn Rovers and Reading amongst his former clubs in England.

The 34-year-old has not kicked a ball in an official game since April 10, 2016 when he lasted three minutes on the pitch against Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
