Besides Romelu Lukaku, English-born midfielder of Nigerian descent Ross Barkley may depart Everton this summer.

According to a report in the Daily Star, it is claimed that Tottenham and Arsenal are battling for the signature of the England international, who is valued in the region of 30 million pounds.

With the future of Germany star Ozil up in the air, Arsenal have identified Barkley as his replacement should he depart the Emirates, while Spurs want him to partner Dele Alli in midfield.

The 23-year-old, who has spent the whole of his career at Everton, will become a free agent at the end of next season if he doesn’t extend his contract.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Barkley’s situation at Everton.

He was an unused substitute in England’s 2-0 win over Lithuania in a World Cup qualifier at Wembley on Sunday evening.
