Chelsea In Pole Position Ahead Of Man City To Sign AFC Wimbledon's Nigerian Wonderkid
Published: April 26, 2017Premier League pacesetters Chelsea have leapfrogged Manchester City in the race to sign AFC Wimbledon whizkid Toyosi Olusanya, according to reports in the British press.
The Blues have stepped up their pursuit of the winger by inviting him for trials with a view to a contract, the Mirror has reported.
Olusanya was a hit when The Dons faced Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup in February 2016, and a loan move had been mooted before he was invited for tests.
Born in London 19 years ago, he made his professional debut for the first team of AFC Wimbledon against Newport County in May of last year, and needed only seven minutes to score the only goal of the match after he was introduced in the 73rd minute.
Olusanya started off his career with MASS FC, before spells at Palace Guard FC and AFC Wimbledon.
