Eagles First Training : Arsenal Whizkid Stars, Alhassan Pushing For Starting Shirt & Confirmed Lineups
Published: June 06, 2017Akwa United offensive all-rounder Alhassan Ibrahim is pushing for a starting shirt against South Africa, in what would be his competitive debut for the national team if that comes to pass, having impressed the coaching staff during the training session on Tuesday.
Twenty players were divided into two groups, with Team A wearing green, while Team B suited up in orange.
Alhassan played as a midfielder for Team B, he was all over the pitch, taking the ball out of defense before initiating attacks. The ex-Flying Eagle played more like a box-to-box midfielder.
Teammate Alex Iwobi also sparkled, running between the defense and midfield to receive passes and distributed the ball perfectly.
Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho seems to be the designated penalty taker, the striker successfully converted his penalty kick after Etebo was felled in the box.
After the water break, Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi replaced Ezenwa. The training ended around 1200 hours.
Confirmed Lineups
Team A : Ezenwa (Akpeyi) Troost-Ekong, Awaziem, Shehu, Maroof Yusuf, Onazi, Ndidi, Onyekuru, Kayode, Oshimen.
Team B : Alampasu, Agbo, Ogu, Ebuehi, Alhassan, Etebo, Agu, Iwobi, Iheanacho, Moses Simon.
