Update On The Future Of Arsenal Wonderkid Nwakali, Flies To London Wednesday
Published: July 01, 2017Nigeria U20 skipper Kelechi Nwakali and his entourage will fly to London next week for talks with Premier League side Arsenal over his future at the Emirates.
It is envisaged that the attacking midfielder will spend part of the pre-season at Arsenal before his employer make a decision on whether or not he will be retained or loaned out to a top-flight team in Europe.
''He is going next week to London, either Wednesday or Thursday pending when the flight is confirmed,'' Kelechi's adviser, Allwell Nwakali told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''Our target is for him to train with the first team of Arsenal in pre-season. They have invited us, so they have their plans for him.
''I am suspecting he'll do pre-season with them so they will know his ability.
''Two things are involved, either they keep him at Arsenal and start fighting for his work permit or he goes on loan to a first division club.''
In his first season as a professional, Kelechi Nwakali was one of the most impressive Arsenal loanees and made 34 appearances in all competitions for MVV, logging 2,558 minutes.
