England World Cup-Winning Duo Solanke & Ejaria Were Once Teammates At Chelsea
Published: July 13, 2017England U20 internationals of Nigerian parentage Dominic Solanke and Ovie Ejaria were once teammates at Chelsea, according to former Liverpool U23s coach Michael Beale.
An ex-Youth Development Officer and Academy Coach at Chelsea, Beale has backed the 2017 Golden Ball winner to be a big hit at Liverpool, adding that his pace and movement will cause problems for opposition defenses.
''(He’s) a boy I’ve known since the age of six and I’m really excited to see how he does,'' Beale told BBC Radio Merseyside.
''He was training with our under-8s (at Chelsea), with Ovie Ejaria, they were two players in London who everybody knew about.
''Dominic had unbelievable movement mechanics at a young age, he was so fast.''
Solanke swapped Chelsea for Liverpool after thirteen years in the summer transfer window, while Ejaria was on the books of Arsenal for nine years before he joined the Anfield side in 2014.
