Arsenal Super Kid Bola Clarifies : I Am Not Eligible To Play For Nigeria
Published: July 16, 2017
Arsenal superkid Marc Bola has clarified that he is not eligible to represent the Nigerian national teams, but can turn out for the Democratic Republic of Congo sides.
The left wing-back shares the same surname as England U18 star of Nigerian parentage Tolaji Bola, which led to the mix-up regarding his international eligibility.
''Marc Bola is not a Nigerian, he was born in London and can play for the England youth teams or the Democratic Republic of Congo,'' a top source close to the defender told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Marc Bola, 19, is being monitored by the Congolese Association Football Federation (FECOFA) and was called up to their U18 squad for a training camp in Birmingham two years ago but withdrew from the team as a result of injury.
Arsenal recently loaned out the defender to Bristol Rovers for the entirety of the 2017-2018 season.
