Chelsea's Young Nigerian Striker Makes Professional Debut For Barnsley
Chelsea striker of Nigerian descent Ike Ugbo has played his first senior game as a professional footballer, but not for the Premier League champions.

The England youth international hopped off the bench at the start of the second half in Barnsley's 3-1 win over Coventry City in a pre-season friendly staged at Oakwell on Tuesday night.

The Reds secured the win thanks to goals from Stevie Mallan, Stefan Payne and Tom Bradshaw.

In his post match comments, Ugbo said : ''I was happy to come on and do my best for the team and also to get a win.

''I think their style of play suits me most of all the teams that came for me and it will help me develop as a player.''

The 18-year-old Ike Ugbo has been loaned out to Barnsley for the entirety of the 2017-2018 season.
