Chelsea 2 Man Utd 1 : Morata Becomes Most Expensive Spanish Player As Chelsea Confirm Agreement
Published: July 19, 2017Premier League champions Chelsea have reached an agreement with Real Madrid over the transfer of Alvaro Morata, writes the official website of the Blues.
The striker will pen a contract with Chelsea if he agrees personal terms and passes a traditional medical.
Morata was heavily linked with a shift to Manchester United this summer, but the Red Devils finally signed Romelu Lukaku after failing to strike terms with Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old will soon depart Los Blancos training camp in Los Angeles to return to Europe and finalize his transfer to Chelsea.
The former Juventus star has now become the most expensive Spanish player to be transferred with Chelsea expected to cough up 80 million euros for his signature, beating the record previously held by ex-Chelsea striker Fernando Torres.
