Transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio writes on his website that the Blues have taken the lead in the race for the Fluminese offensive winger.
Ajax Amsterdam, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Sampdoria have been credited with an interest in the exciting youngster, who is a Brazil U20 international.
Manchester United are believed to be keeping tabs on the 20-year-old Richarlison and have extensively scouted the winger in recent months.
