Spurs Star In Hot Water : Man Utd, Chelsea Target Fined N61.4 Million For Transfer Statements
Tottenham Hotspur fullback Danny Rose has landed in hot water in the wake of the interview he granted an English newspaper in which he criticized the club's transfer policy and ambition.

The England international has been fined two weeks wages, thought to be in the region of £130,000 (N61.4 million), for unauthorized statements he made to the press.

A remorseful Rose has released a statement through his intermediary Base Soccer stating : ''Having had time to consider my actions, I acknowledge now that the timing and manner of what I said was ill-judged.

''My words were not meant to offend and for that I would like to apologise to the chairman, manager, my team mates and the fans.

''I'd also like to wish the lads good luck ahead of Sunday's game against Newcastle.''

Manchester United as well as Chelsea are believed to be monitoring the situation of Rose, with a view to a potential bid.
