Done Deal : Chelsea Poised To Announce Transfer Of Midfielder
Published: August 17, 2017Premier League champions Chelsea are poised to announce the outgoing transfer of England youth international Jordan Houghton in the coming days.
Doncaster Rovers F.C have revealed that they have struck terms with The Blues over Houghton joining the newly promoted League One club on loan until January 2018.
The 21-year-old midfielder spent a portion of the 2016-2017 season on loan at the Rovers, and had to return to Stamford Bridge after suffering a knee injury during Doncaster's 1–1 draw with Luton Town on 18 February.
''He’ll be back with us after he’s played four or five games for Chelsea’s under-23s,'' Doncaster Rovers manager Darren Ferguson said.
''I think the big thing for Jordan, Chelsea and ourselves is that he wants to come back so much.
''That’s a big tick in the box for us as a football club and Chelsea are delighted he’s coming back here.
''They need him to get games, competitive games, and we feel that he can add to the squad we’ve already got. ''
Jordan Houghton is expected to feature for at least thirty minutes in Friday's Premier League 2 encounter between Chelsea and Derby County at Stamford Bridge.
