Exc: Real Salt Lake Contemplating Whether To Offer Nigeria Intl New One-Year Deal
Published: October 15, 2017 Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake are considering offering Nigeria international Sunday Stephen a new deal.
The former Valencia and Real Betis midfielder will walk away from the Royals as a free agent at the end of November if he doesn't append his signature to a new deal.
''Real Salt Lake are happy to take Sunday Stephen's option for 2018, let's see what happens at the end of the season,'' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Since Stephen's arrival at Real Salt Lake in January 2016, he has played 39 games and contributed to three goals (1 goal, 2 assists).
This season, the 29-year-old earned MLS Team of the Week honours for his outstanding performance in midfield against Philadelphia Union, finishing the match with four tackles while completing 83 percent of his passes.
Sunny lists Poli Ejido, Osasuna, Numancia, Bnei Sakhnin, CSKA Sofia and Alanyaspor among his former clubs apart from the aforementioned teams.
