Nigeria-Eligible Striker Named In Championship Team Of The Season At Midway Point

Nigeria-eligible striker Tammy Abraham has been named in the EFL Championship Team of the Season at the midway point by Whoscored.

Aston Villa have two men in the eleven best players that have caught the eye, Abraham and the highly-rated midfielder Jack Grealish.

In a 4-4-2 formation, the Chelsea loanee was partnered in attack by Birmingham City's Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Only two players have scored more goals than Abraham in the English second-tier after 23 matches, Nottingham Forest's Lewis Grabban and Brentford's Neal Maupay, but the Nigerian who scored one goal less was picked ahead of the duo to lead the frontline.

Nine of Abraham's thirteen goals in the Championship were scored in the last seven matches and he netted four in his first ten games.
