Huddersfield Town Boss Highlights Billing's Missed Chance In Loss To Manchester United
Published: December 26, 2018Huddersfield Town boss David Wagner was left to rue missed opportunities after seeing his side lose 3-1 to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
Nemanja Matic scored in the 28th minute to give the Red Devils the initiative but Philip Billing came close to restoring parity a minute from the end of the first half when he tried to beat De Gea at the near post, only for his shot to hit the side netting.
The visitors had a chance to break the deadlock when the Nigerian midfielder's trademark long throw found Terence Kongolo who fired over from inside the box.
''The guys who have followed us this season have seen that they have seen often this season,'' Wagner told reporters at the post-match press conference.
''The effort was there, how we played offensively, how we created opportunities.
''The ones through Terence Kongolo and Philip Billing we didn’t use.
''In the second half I thought we were even better.''
