Official : Blues Legend Joe Cole To Coach Three Nigerian Starlets At Chelsea
Published: December 29, 2018Through a publication on their official website, Premier League side Chelsea have informed that one of their legendary players, Joe Cole will return to the club in 2019 as a technical academy coach.
Cole's job description specifies that he will work with various age groups over the next six months, including U18s and U23s while he studies for his coaching badges.
Ola Aina's sibling, Jordan, plays for Chelsea U18s while promising midfielders Tariq Uwakwe and Faustino Anjorin turn out for the U23s and the three teenagers will benefit from having Cole as a mentor until the end of the 2018-19 season.
''Joe will work across a number of age groups and with various staff to ensure he gets to experience the full range of our programme,'' said Chelsea head of youth development Neil Bath.
''I’m sure sharing his experiences and football knowledge, combined with his obvious passion for the game, will help enormously with the development of our young players.''
Joe Cole was on the same Chelsea team as Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel that won the Premier League title during the 2009-2010 season.
