Chelsea Whizkid Of Nigerian Descent Tipped To Move To Foreign Club
Published: January 13, 2019England U18 international of Nigerian descent Faustino Anjorin has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of former Manchester City starlet Jadon Sancho by leaving Chelsea for a foreign club.
The 18-year-old Sancho was undoubtedly one of the best players in the first stanza of the Bundesliga, scoring 6 goals with eight assists in 17 appearances despite his young age.
Anjorin has made remarkable progress at Chelsea, taking note of the fact that he has been promoted to their U23 team having started the season as an U18 player.
With a star-studded midfield consisting of N'Golo Kante, Ross Barkley, Jorginho and Mateo Kovačić, Anjorin may find it difficult breaking into Chelsea's first team and it has been suggested by the Daily Mail that he may have to follow Jadon Sancho's path if he wants regular football.
The 2001-born Anjorin was rewarded with his first professional contract in November 2018, shortly after he celebrated his seventeenth birthday, penning a three-year deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2021.
He has been on the books of Chelsea for ten years after joining their development centre programme as an Under-7.
