Tottenham, Wolves, Everton Suffer Massive Blow In Their Pursuit Of Nigerian Striker
Published: January 14, 2019Sunderland striker Josh Maja could turn down his Premier League suitors and move to the German Bundesliga this month, according to reports.
The Sun claims the former Super Eagles invitee is on the brink of agreeing a deal with an unnamed club in Germany that could see him pocket 20,000 pounds per week, which is four times his current wages at the Black Cats.
Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City are among the Premier League teams linked with a move for Maja.
The 20-year-old striker is represented by Elite Project Group Agency, who brokered the deals that took Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson to Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim respectively.
Chima Okoroji (Freiburg), Keanan Bennetts (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Mandela Egbo (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Osayamen Osawe (FC Ingolstadt) play for German clubs though they hold Nigerian and English citizenship.
Maja was omitted from the Sunderland squad held to a 1-1 draw by Luton Town this past weekend due to a stomach bug.
