Ian Wright Sends Message To Arsenal Fans Over Unfair Criticism Of Iwobi
Published: February 10, 2019Arsenal hero Ian Wright has sprung to the defense of Alex Iwobi over the unfair criticism of the Nigeria international by the Gunners fans following the 2-1 win at Huddersfield on Saturday evening.
The Hale End Academy product was rated by several pundits as Arsenal's best player on parade at the John Smith's Stadium but still received abuses from the supporters.
''What has happened to us, to Arsenal fans now?" Wright stated on his Youtube channel, according to Football London.
"Especially the away fans, the hardcore fans who go away, travelling all other the place, losing patience with a young Londoner, an academy player, trying his very best.
"We need to reset and get behind the boys again, especially people like Alex Iwobi. He needs it more than anybody now. He tries to be progressive when he plays.
"It's embarrassing and I feel sorry for him."
