Top Four Egyptians That Can Cause Super Eagles Problems In High Profile Friendly
Published: March 23, 2019
Having passed their first test which is to secure top spot in the AFCON qualification standings with a win against group rivals, Seychelles, the Super Eagles are now faced with a grudge battle with 2019 tournament hosts, Egypt.
It can be recalled that it was the Egyptians who beat Nigeria four years ago to prevent them from qualifying for the continental tournament, and you will have to go back as far as 1990 to the last time they defeated the North African nation.
Head coach Javier Aguirre opted to leave out his talisman Liverpool's Mohamed Salah in his team to face Nigeria but still retained enough talent which is enough to hurt his opposition any day.
But which of these players can he rely upon?
Mohamed Elneny: The Arsenal midfielder is expected to lead his team by example and is capable of producing one or two decisive moments.
He is a player known for his good reading of the ball as well as breaking up play brilliantly whenever the opposition runs at them.
Mahmoud Hassan: Nicknamed 'Trezeguet' after talented ex-French footballer, David Trezeguet, the 24-year-old brings blinding pace and top-notch skills to this Egypt team.
He is very fast, quick in getting in behind defenders and crowns it off with an eye for goal which has seen him score eight times and lay on another seven this season for his Turkish Super Lig side, Kasimpasa.
Amr Warda: Warda is another skillful player who could prove a handful for the Nigerian defence on his day.
The winger likes to run at defenders, catching them with surprise at the break and is most likely to profit from the opposition leaving pockets of space at the rear.
Ahmed Hassan: Hassan is a striker that plies his trade with Olympiakos in the Greece Super League for whom he has scored 12 times in just 27 competitive games.
He has the ability to trick opponents in a twinkle and can cause all sorts of goals from virtually any angle if given a chance.

William Troost-Ekong and Co. would have to watch 'Kouka' carefully if they are not to fall prey of his lethality.
