Anjorin Surpasses Abraham As Youngest Ever Player Of Nigerian Descent To Feature In UYL Final
Chelsea were beaten in the UEFA Youth League final for the second successive year after losing 3-1 to Porto in this season's showpiece staged at the Colovray Stadium, Nyon on Monday evening.

Redan's header cancelled out Vieira's opener before goals from Afonso Sousa and Diogo Queirós settled the outcome of the game.

Shortly after the Portuguese netted their third goal, Chelsea U19 boss Joe Edwards introduced Faustino Anjorin.

Aged 17 years, 5 months and 6 days, Anjorin entered into the history books as the youngest ever player of Nigerian descent to feature in the UEFA Youth League final, surpassing the record previously held by Tammy Abraham.

Abraham was 17 years, 6 months and 11 days when he came off the bench in the 2015 final against Shakhtar Donetsk, breaking the Nigerian record set by Dominic Solanke at the start of the game.

Former Barcelona defender Godswill Ekpolo remains the oldest Nigerian footballer to play in the UEFA Youth League final, aged 18 years and 11 months.
