Charlton Athletic's Joe Aribo Extends Scoring Streak To Four Games
Published: May 12, 2019
Joe Aribo extended his scoring streak to four games to help Charlton Athletic beat Doncaster Rovers 2-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium in the League One playoff semifinal first leg on Sunday afternoon.
Prior to today's meeting, the versatile midfielder had netted in his last three matches against Scunthorpe United, Gillingham and Rochdale.
Aribo had a chance to put the Addicks in front after 17 minutes but saw his shot blocked.
The 22-year-old doubled the away team's advantage on 34 minutes, drilling an angled shot into the net after he was teed up by Lyle Taylor who opened the scoring two minutes earlier.
Four minutes from time, Aribo almost set up a goal when his brilliant cross found the impressive Taylor who was inches away from increasing Charlton's lead.
For the first time in his career, he will end the season with double digits in terms of goals, having found the net ten times this season.
The Kinetic Academy product will become a free agent next month if he does not extend his contract.
