Arsenal Defender Introduces Himself To Flying Eagles, NFF Before Group Game Against Ukraine
Published: May 26, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that there is no going back on the decision of Arsenal starlet Joseph Olowu to commit his international future to Nigeria over England, where he was raised.
The central defender has purchased a flight ticket and will be heading to Poland on Wednesday, May 29, a day before the Flying Eagles face off with Ukraine in their final Group D fixture at the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup.
Olowu will be accompanied on the trip by his father and they plan to hold talks with representatives of the Nigeria Football Federation and Nigeria U20s coaching staff led by Paul Aigbogun.
The Hale End Academy product will also introduce himself to the Flying Eagles players and watch them take on Ukraine in Bielsko-Biała.
An injury denied Olowu a place in the Flying Eagles squad to Poland and he could be considered for the Olympic Team in the future.
Tom Dele-Bashiru (Manchester City), Nnamdi Ofoborh (Bournemouth) and Chinonso Emeka (Brook House FC) are the English-based players in the Flying Eagles 21-man squad.
