Rohr Reveals How Super Eagles Are Preparing For AFCON Semifinal Vs Algeria; Admits Injury Concerns
Published: July 13, 2019Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr and Chelsea's Kenneth Omeruo attended the mandatory pre-match press conference ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations semifinal showdown against Algeria.
The former Bayern Munich defender revealed that the Super Eagles have been preparing for the semifinal clash since they knocked out South Africa from the AFCON and has admitted that he is sweating over the fitness of few players who suffered injuries on Wednesday.
''After this difficult match against South African, we had to recover at first but we did immediately a training session the next morning and we could that see some of our players had small injuries,'' Rohr said at Saturday's press conference attended by allnigeriasoccer.com.
''We tried to give them the best treatment. We had a training session on Thursday morning and had again a training session yesterday afternoon, it went very well.''
He continued : ''We decided to go to a stadium which is closer to the hotel because the traffic is much and we didn't want to spend one and half hours in the bus.
''The players could recover and we could also watch the game of Algeria against Ivory Coast and we were impressed of course about the game because it was good game, very intensive game also.
