Exciting Winger Saka To Miss Arsenal's Clash Against Liverpool
Published: August 23, 2019Bukayo Saka will not make his maiden appearance for Arsenal in the new season when they battle European champions Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Although the teenage winger was spotted training with the Gunners first team this week, he is no longer in contention to face the Reds because he was in action for the U23 team in the Premier League 2 this evening.
Saka started and was in action for 64 minutes as Arsenal and Everton U23s shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
Considered one of the top prospects at Arsenal Academy, the 17-year-old has not played competitively for the first team since January 2019 when he came off the bench against Blackpool in the Emirates FA Cup though he was involved in five matches in pre-season.
Tolaji Bola, Joseph Olowu and Folarin Balogun also got minutes under their belt against Everton, and the left fullback created the first goal scored by Steve Bould's team.
Meanwhile, midfielder James Olayinka remained on the bench for the second game in a row.
