Liverpool Hero Carragher Names The Everton Player Iwobi Is Likely To Replace In Starting XI
Published: August 25, 2019Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Alex Iwobi is likely to replace Brazilian winger Bernard in the Everton starting line-up as the season progresses.
The former England star has criticized Bernard, saying he lacks physical attributes and another problem is that he's lacking pace.
Iwobi was the architect of most good things that came Everton's way in their 2-0 loss to Aston Villa on Friday after he came off the bench and was unlucky not to score on his debut when he hit the woodwork with a left-footed strike.
''In Bernard when I watch him play he’s not powerful enough or quick enough. He’s neat and tidy at different times, you think Iwobi will come in there [to replace him],'' Carragher said on Sky Sports’ Main Event channel via TBR.
''Hopefully for them Iwobi comes in on that side and adds more goals than Bernard does.''

Last season, Iwobi was directly involved in 15 goals (6 goals, 9 assists) for Arsenal, while Bernard had a hand in only six goals (2 goals, 4 assists) for the Toffees in all competitions.
