Iwobi Reveals What Marco Silva Told Him Before Debut; Aims To Get More Goals
Alex Iwobi has revealed that Everton coach Marco Silva instructed him to add creativity to the team before he stepped out onto the Vila Park turf for his debut last Friday.

The Nigeria international replaced Iceland playmaker Sigurdsson in the 61st minute and did not look out of place despite training with his Toffees teammates for about two weeks following his deadline day move from Arsenal.

Iwobi came close to scoring a debut goal but his left-footed strike from inside the area hit the woodwork eight minutes from time.

''Before I came on, the manager said he wanted me to try to add some creativity,'' Iwobi told Everton TV.

''I felt sharp. And when I struck that ball [that hit the post], I thought it had gone in.''

The Hale End Academy product managed 15 goals in 149 appearances for Arsenal and he's concerned about his goalscoring stats being an attack-minded player.

Iwobi added : ''It’s my aim to try to get more goals and assists.

''I have been working on that in training with the manager and the players, so hopefully I’ll be able to help my team get more goals.

''The manager demands a lot and he always reminds me in training of what I need to do. He’ll keep on helping me and improving me as a player."

Having impressed off the bench against Aston Villa, Iwobi is in line to make his full debut on Wednesday when Everton take on Lincoln City in the League Cup.
