Carabao Cup Team News : Norwich City Boss Hints At Handing Senior Debut To Idah
Published: August 27, 2019Adam Idah could make his senior debut for Norwich City in Tuesday evening's Carabao Cup Round Two trip to Crawley Town, manager Daniel Farke has hinted.
The Republic of Ireland U21 star was promoted to Norwich City's first team last month and allocated the number 35 jersey but has not been named in a match day squad since the start of the season, missing games against Liverpool, Newcastle United and Chelsea.
Idah had an excellent season with Norwich City U23s last term, scoring 13 goals in all competitions and was the only player of Nigerian descent nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award.
The 18-year-old was offered a new four-year contract in July 2019 to fend off interest from other clubs.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Farke said : ''Adam Idah isn't far away. There are no gifts for young players and I will only throw them in when they are prepared.
''He always trains with us and is an option for tomorrow''.
Idah played in the Toulon Tournament for the Republic of Ireland U21 in June and scored two goals against China.
