Nigeria's Top Five Players For The Month Of August
The first installment of the international break is here and allnigeriasoccer.com's Izuchukwu Okosi presents the five Nigeria's best performing players for the month of August 2019 before the hiatus.

1. Victor Osimhen (Lille)

The Lille striker has started his career at the Ligue 1 side like a house on fire with four goals already within three weeks of the start of the season.

That is 80% of his team's goals.

Osimhen has been named in the Ligue 1 Team of the Month and also the European U-21 team of the month of August for his outstanding performances in the period under review.

2. Alex Iwobi (Everton)

Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi has also began life at his new club Everton very well with two goals scored already in the Carabao Cup and Premier League against Lincoln City and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively.

Aside goals scored he has created chances for his teammates and went close himself before both headed goals.

3. Samuel Kalu (Bordeaux)

Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu is another Super Eagles player who impressed in the month of August for his club.

Kalu has played in the club's four matches so far but his most outstanding game was the 2-0 away win over Dijon where he assisted Hwang Ji-ho's goal.

In the team's 1-1 draw against Olympique Lyon, he was the most fouled Bordeaux player which culminated in the red card (second yellow) to Thiago Mendes albeit Kalu himself was yellow carded in same match.

4. William Troost-Ekong (Udinese)

The Udinese central defender has made 5.5% clearances and 0.5 blocks in two games for the Zebras thus far in the Serie A according to statistical website, Who scored.com.

Ekong was particularly impressive in Udinese's game against AC Milan where his battles with Krzysztof Piatek was one of the interesting sub plots in the match.


5. David OkerekeĀ  (Club Brugge)

Former Spezia striker David striker David Okereke is on a mission to fulfill the sobriquet as 'The New Aubameyang' following his move to Belgian Pro League giants Club Brugge from the Serie B side.

The Nigeria U-23 star has already scored four league goals in five matches for the team that will campaign in the UEFA Champions League against some teams with some of the world's best defenders.
