West Ham's Ukraine Star Yarmolenko : We'll Play With Full Force Against Nigeria
Published: September 08, 2019One of the most recognizable faces in the Ukrainian squad, Andriy Yarmolenko has said they cannot take Nigeria lightly when both teams face off at the Dnipro Arena on Tuesday, September 10.
Ukraine have been spectacular since the start of the 2020 European Championship qualifiers, winning four of their five matches and are the joint best defensive team with only one goal conceded, along with England and Belgium.
Andriy Shevchenko's team showed their might on Saturday, beating Lithuania 3-0 in an away game.
In an interview published by the official website of the Ukrainian Association of Football, Yarmolenko stated : ''Before the match (against Lithuania), when we were going to the stadium, we saw how many of our fans were on the streets.
''They were even more surprised when they went out to work out and saw how many were in the stands. Thanks again to them.
''I am sure that we will play with full force against Nigeria in Dnipro as we will be supported by the fans. All for them. In general, I missed Ukraine, the Ukrainian fans''.
Yarmolenko made his first international appearance in a year against Lithuania, following his Achilles injury.
