Arsenal's Oldest Player Takes Saka Under His Wing Ahead Of Watford Clash
Published: September 12, 2019Arsenal manager Unai Emery put the players through their paces at London Colney on Thursday with Bukayo Saka called-up to train with the first team for the umpteenth time.
If the training pictures published by Arsenal's website, arsenal.com is anything to go by, the oldest player in the squad David Luiz has taken Saka under his wing.
The 32-year-old Brazilian and the young Nigerian winger were spotted together in several photos during the workout.
While Luiz is a newcomer at the club following his shock deadline day move from Chelsea, Saka is more familiar with the surroundings as he has been on the books of Arsenal for close to a decade.
Touted as one of the brightest young players at Arsenal Academy, Saka has not played competitively for the first team in the new season but that will certainly change in the coming days barring an injury, with Cup matches on the horizon.
The 18-year-old showed his quality on a number of occasions last season and also impressed in pre-season training.
Saka has not fully broken into the Arsenal first team because he is in direct competition with Nicolas Pépé, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reiss Nelson.
