'Super Eagles Not To Be Underestimated' - Spurs Hero Sends Message To Southgate About Tomori
Tottenham Hotspur hero Garth Crooks has urged England boss Gareth Southgate to consider handing a call-up to Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori in upcoming matches.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Tomori has played internationally for England and Canada's youth teams and he's also eligible for Nigeria through his parents.

Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick is believed to be in touch with manager Gernot Rohr over the possibility of inviting the central defender to the Super Eagles.

Tomori was named in Garth Crooks Premier League Team of the Week after helping Chelsea keep their first cleansheet of the season in a 2-0 win against Brighton & Hove on Saturday.

On Tomori, he said : ''This lad caught my eye against Liverpool when Mohamed Salah tried to outrun him and Tomori handled the chase comfortably and with gears to spare. Needless to say, I was impressed.

''Against Brighton, it was a very different proposition, but Tomori looked composed and comfortable like a player who is going places.

''I hear the Nigerians have their eye on this talent and the Super Eagles' pulling power is not to be underestimated. England manager Gareth Southgate should not take Tomori's England age group appearances for granted.''

Tomori was a key member of the Young Lions squad that won the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2017 and started all the three games played by England in the U21 EURO in June.
