Manchester United Vs Arsenal Team News : No Debut For Nigerian-Born Defender
Published: September 30, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Joseph Olowu will definitely not make his professional debut when Manchester United take on Arsenal in an eagerly anticipated Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Monday, September 30.
Manager Unai Emery ran the rule over the Ibadan-born defender in the final workout held at London Colney on Sunday, fueling speculation that he was in line to be named to the provisional roster against the Red Devils.
Olowu's dream of making his maiden appearance for the first team evaporated after he was left out of the traveling party to M16 0RA.
Having said that, the fact that the 19-year-old was promoted to first team training shows he is in the long-term plans of Unai Emery.
The young center back could have been knocking on the first team door this season but a serious injury he suffered in January kept him out of action for close to six months and he was not considered for the pre-season trip to the United States due to the ailment.
He is comfortable playing as a central defender, defensive midfielder and right back.
