Lampard Reveals How Lille Dangerman Osimhen Troubled Chelsea's Defence
Published: October 03, 2019Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard spoke to the media Wednesday night after his side beat Lille 2-1 win on matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League.
Before the game at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, all the talk centered around two of the most in-form players of Nigerian descent in the European Leagues, Victor Osimhen and Tammy Abraham, and the two players lived up to their billings by finding the net in the first half.
Speaking on the threat posed by Nigeria's Victor Osimhen, Lampard had positive verdict to give on the Super Eagles star who leapt high to head home Lille's equaliser in the 33rd minute.
"He (Osimhen) was hugely impressive. Tonight was going to be a tough match for our defenders. His performance individually was really good,'' Lampard told reporters.
"He (Osimhen) has everything in his game and it was tough to play against him. I wish him well. He looks like he has a fantastic career ahead of him."
Chelsea's next Champions League games are double headers against Ajax Amsterdam while Osimhen's Lille face Valencia.
