Arsenal Coach Reveals One Amazing Fact About Saka's EPL Debut & He's Absolutely Correct
Published: October 05, 2019Arsenal coach Unai Emery has revealed one amazing fact about Bukayo Saka's Premier League debut against Fulham on January 1, 2019, saying the winger did not touch the ball during the ten minutes he spent on the Emirates Stadium turf.
According to data supplied by the statistics gurus at OPTA, the Spaniard is absolutely correct.
In quotes carried by The Sun UK, Emery stated : ''When Saka made his Premier League debut against Fulham last season, he came on for the final ten minutes and didn’t touch the ball.
''It was an amazing fact and we still talk about that in the dressing room. But it was an experience that helped to start the process for him''.
Saka has put his uneventful Premier League debut behind him and has emerged as one of the important young players at Arsenal in recent weeks, starting against Aston Villa and Manchester United.
''He was 17 years old but in the last nine months he has progressed so much and is now starting games for us.
''The first thing I learned when I came to Arsenal was how important the young academy players are to this club.
''It is my responsibility to carry on that work because these players more often learn quicker than those who are signed into the club,'' Emery added.
