Huddersfield Town Starlet Handed Late Nigeria U17 Call-Up; Man Utd To Monitor Ebiowei In Brazil If....
Published: October 08, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that promising Huddersfield Town striker Andre Silveira Edionhon has been handed a late call-up to the Nigeria U17s, few days before their trip to São Paulo for the final phase of preparations ahead of the World Cup in Brazil.
Having been invited to train with the Golden Eaglets during the UEFA ASSIST Tournament in Turkey, the Golden Eaglets coaching staff are taking another look at him again and he attended this morning's workout in Abuja.
Released Arsenal attacking midfielder Malcolm Ebiowei is another latecomer aiming to gatecrash the Nigeria U17s World Cup party and his minders are confident that he will be named on the 21-man roster.
The exceptional talent is being managed by influential English-based Nigerian agent, Emeka Obasi who also looks after the affairs of Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Joe Aribo and Josh Maja.
Manchester United have emerged as the frontrunners for the signature of Ebiowei and it is confirmed that the Old Trafford outfit are sending one of their scouts to Brazil to watch the midfielder provided he is named to the roster.
He would join Nigeria-eligible youngsters Shola Shoretire, Deji Sotona and Dillon Hoogewerf at Manchester United Academy if the deal goes through.
Meanwhile, as at this afternoon, the Golden Eaglets 30-player roster has not been finalized because the MRI results are still being awaited, meaning their trip to Sao Paulo earlier scheduled for Wednesday, October 9 is now tentative.
