Golden Eaglets Goal Machine Olusegun Hoping To Follow In The Footsteps Of Osimhen, Oruma, Chrisantus
Published: October 20, 2019Nigeria U17 goal machine Olakunle Olusegun is hoping to score more goals at the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.
The ABS striker won the top scorer award at the regional qualifiers and has been scoring goals for fun in friendly matches.
Olusegun would be emulating Wilson Oruma (1993), Macauley Chrisantus (2007) and Victor Osimhen (2015) if he finishes as the Golden Boot winner at Brazil 2019.
Speaking after netting a brace against South Korea, Olusegun said : ''I was trying to score more than two goals but I could not, I am hoping to score more in the World Cup.''
The Manu Garba-led team will face Japan in their final friendly on Sunday evening and Olusegun is predicting another win against the Asians.
The number 7 added : ''By the grace of God we are going to win the match and we will try our best not to concede any goal and we will play more better''.
Five-time world champions Nigeria will do battle with Hungary, Ecuador and Australia in Group B of the World Cup.
