Man Of The Match Tijani Hails Nigeria U17 Teammates After Comeback
Published: October 27, 2019The Golden Eaglets began their campaign at the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup with a sensational 4-2 victory over Hungary on Saturday evening at the Estádio Olímpico, Goiânia.
One of the architects of the win was Collins Edwin SC defensive midfielder Samson Tijani who scored a brace and also exhibited his leadership qualities.
Speaking post-match, the Golden Eaglets captain praised his teammates for not giving up and assured that they will put in a better performance when they face Ecuador in their next Group B game.
Tijani, who was named Man of the Match, said : ''I am really grateful for everything and I really thank all the players for putting their efforts in this game to comeback and win the game, I thank God for everything.

Should they beat Ecuador on Tuesday evening, the Manu Garba led side will qualify for the knockout rounds with a game to spare.
