Super Eagles Camp Update : Osimhen, Akpeyi Report For Duty; No More Players Expected Today
Published: November 11, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Lille striker Victor Osimhen and Kaizer Chiefs netminder Daniel Akpeyi are the latest players to link up with the Super Eagles in Uyo ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin on Wednesday, November 13.
Thus, a minimum of fourteen players will be available to manager Gernot Rohr when the first training session is held, probably on Tuesday.
As at the time of filing this report, allnigeriasoccer.com's reporter was at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium and stadium officials have suggested that a training session earlier scheduled to take place on Monday evening will no longer hold which is not surprising given that nine players are yet to show up at the Akwa Ibom State capital in addition to the players being travel weary.
Abdullahi Shehu, William Troost-Ekong, Ifeanyi Anaemena, Mikel Agu, Joe Aribo, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Paul Onuachu and Emmanuel Dennis are expected to join the Super Eagles team in Uyo on Tuesday, November 12.
With the exception of Mikel who was not in Vitória Guimarães' 18 against Sporting Braga on Sunday, the players still being expected all featured for their respective clubs yesterday.
The fourteen players in camp are Omeruo, Ezenwa, Kalu, Musa, Azeez, Awaziem, Ndidi, Iwobi, Ola Aina, Ajayi, Maduka, Collins, Akpeyi and Osimhen.
