QPR Star Who Wants To Play For Nigeria Explains Thinking Behind Wonder Goal Vs Birmingham
Nigerian-born winger Bright Osayi-Samuel has explained the thinking behind his wonder goal in the 67th minute of Queens Park Rangers' 2-0 win against Birmingham City at the St Andrews Stadium on Wednesday night.

After receiving a pass from Marc Pugh, Osayi-Samuel raced away from inside his own half, held off the challenge of Colin before firing a left-footed shot into the roof of the net to give QPR a two-goal advantage.

His brilliant performance saw him earn the Sky Bet Man of the Match award; he completed a joint game high five dribbles, touched the ball 44 times including five in the opponents box.

''When I got the ball, I saw there was a lot of space in behind, so I just tried to use my strength and pace,'' said Osayi-Samuel to QPR's official webpage.

''Chris Ramsey has been yelling to me in training that I need to do more of that so it was great to get an opportunity where I felt I could do it and fortunately it paid off.

''I knew the defender (Maxime Colin) was on a booking, so it would’ve been hard for him to try and tackle me, so I just used that to my advantage and had the confidence to take him on and luckily it paid off.

''When I was through on goal I wanted to shoot with my right foot, but I saw the defender was too close to me so I used to my left foot to make sure I kept it on target and luckily it went in.''

Eligible for Nigeria and England, Osayi-Samuel has pledged his international future to the three-time African champions, but has not yet received a call-up to any of the national teams.
