Manchester United's Dutch-Nigerian Striker Scores Maiden Goal In Premier League 2
Dutch-born striker of Nigerian descent Dillon Hoogewerf opened his goalscoring account for Manchester United U23 team on Monday, December 16, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The 16-year-old came off the bench to net his side's fourth goal in a 4-1 win against Reading in a Premier League 2 Division Two clash at the Madejski Stadium.

Only four days ago, Hoogewerf scored a brace for the U-18s as they toppled Lincoln City in an FA Youth Cup clash, helping them advance to the next round.

And his performances must have impressed Neil Wood who summoned him in place of Largie Ramazani in the 46th minute for his third Premier League 2 appearance this season.

With ninety minutes on the clock, Hannibal Mejbri set up the striker who beat goalkeeper Jokull Andrésson to wrap up the victory for the young Red Devils, his seventh goal this term

Akinwale Odimayo, Michael Olise and Femi Azeez were the other players of Nigerian descent that featured for Reading in the game.

Next up for Manchester United in the Premier League 2 is a top of the table clash with West Ham United who have a point more (35) than their rivals.
