Manchester City's Nigerian Talent Spotter Could Join Arsenal Bound Arteta At The Emirates Stadium
Published: December 18, 2019Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta is in advanced talks with Arsenal over becoming their new manager, according to various reports in the English press including the Daily Mail.
If the Spaniard does come in, Nigerian talent spotter Sam Fagbemi could follow him to the Emirates Stadium outfit.
The 25-year-old currently leads Manchester City's youth scouting strategy in the south and played a key role in the transfer of Nigerian winger Sam Edozie to Manchester City from Millwall in the summer.
Edozie had been on the radar of Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers among others before City won the race for his signature.
Although The Citizens want to keep hold of Fagbemi, Arsenal are in advanced talks with the Nigerian and have offered him a stronger grip on their youth recruitment to persuade him to leave the Premier League champions.
Fagbemi was video scout at Arsenal's youth academy for fifteen months before taking up his present position at Manchester City in January 2017.
He graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Sports Sciences.
