Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta ran the rule over Nigerian youngster Tolaji Bola on Saturday ahead of his side's trip to Lancashire, where they face Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Gunners U23 team were at Liverpool yesterday for a Premier League 2 fixture, so Folarin Balogun and Tobi Omole, who have both trained with the first team this season were not considered by the Spanish football tactician.

Bola is eligible to make his debut for Arsenal in this afternoon's match against the Clarets despite receiving a red card in the closing minutes of the Premier League 2 match against Everton on January 13.

The 21-year-old missed Arsenal's 3-0 rout of Leicester City in the Premier League International Cup and the loss to Liverpool U23s.

The former England U17 international has been an asset to Arsenal U23 team this season, making 16 appearances in all competitions as a starter and has also captained the team.

Originally a central defender, Arsenal youth team coaches identified that his best position is at left-back.
