Iwobi Keen To Show Arsenal What They Are Missing After Ending 17-Year Association Last Summer
Published: February 22, 2020Ahead of Everton's away fixture against Arsenal on Sunday in the English Premier League, Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has reflected the positive vibes in the team.
Arsenal at the Emirates Sunday evening will be one of few difficult games in prospect for Carlo Ancelotti's team and former Gunner, Iwobi spoke to Everton's website on returning to his former home ground.
Iwobi was on the books of Arsenal for seventeen years before sealing a big money to Everton last summer and he's keen to show his former employer what they are missing.
"Arsenal is where I grew up and I want to show them what they produced was good and what they are missing," said Iwobi.
"I am feeling very sharp, very good in myself and confident: excited and always wanting to get on the ball.
"I would like to go and prove a point – but I want to prove a point whoever I am playing.
"There won’t be any nerves or extra motivation. I am motivated for every game and always excited and ready to go."
Iwobi has made 17 Premier League appearances this season, starting 12 times for the Merseyside club.
The Arsenal versus Everton game in north London will kickoff 5.30pm Nigerian time on Sunday evening..
