Liverpool Hero Redknapp Reveals One Thing That Impressed Him About Ighalo Vs Man City
Published: March 09, 2020Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp lavished praise on Odion Ighalo in the wake of Manchester United's 2-0 win over Manchester City in a Premier League game at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
Redknapp was delighted over Ighalo's hold up play that led to the sequence for the second goal scored by Scott McTominay in the 97th minute after a goalkeeping error by Ederson.
The former Nigeria international somehow managed to flick the ball to Fred despite being held by a Manchester City player.
"When you’re struggling, you’re hanging on, you want your centre-forward to get hold of the ball," Redknapp told Sky Sports, according to Mirror.
"Just hold it up and do something special for you. He keeps it alive, it’s a lovely backheel and look what you get at the end of it."
Manchester United are undefeated in the seven matches Ighalo has featured since his transfer from Shanghai Shenhua, winning five and drawing two against Everton and Club Brugge.
